Homeward Bound

I share with you my journey...
The Lord asked me to run five races, starting in 2015; each had a prophetic purpose, and each was an opportunity for me to grow the heart of Jesus. This August will be my fifth race, and I feel honoured to participate and share it with you, who have been running your own race to accomplish God’s kingdom here on earth.
My first race was on August 23, 2015, at the Edmonton Marathon. Prior, I felt the Lord say to me, "If each step was a soul for Christ, how far will you run?"  I agreed to run my first marathon. Then I heard him say, "Put a name to each step." So, I started to ask friends and family for the names of people who needed to know Jesus.  I ran with over 1,200 collected names of people represented in each of the 54,000 steps I took. I had them written on my shirt, headband, and scarf! I felt it was a prophetic act—going out to the lost and bringing them HOME.
On May 27, 2018, I ran the Calgary Marathon. Jesus asked, "Would you run this just for me?" It was just a few weeks before, and I was not even close to being able to run that far. So, with virtually no training, I trusted him and ran the race. It was just me and the Lord in our secret place, undivided devotion to him. With all the noise of the race and the busyness of the day, it was like I was hidden and alone with Him, experiencing his love and care. The unconditional love of God was what he spoke to me that day; to know how wide and deep his love is for me was my prophetic truth, what I ran for. Trusting him to carry me through that race was expressed in my untrained body. I can say that only by His Spirit did I finish that race.
The next race was back in Edmonton on August 18, 2019—a 10km Army run. It was a prophetic announcement of oneness and unity, fighting for families and marriages, and the next generations. It was a race that declared love your neighbor from the place of loving yourself as a precious gem. I ran this race fighting for the truth that we do not compete for the Father’s attention, since every one of us is uniquely and wonderfully made. All of us are his unique, beautiful gems placed in the high priest's breastplate, close to his heart. Out of this place of assurance of love, we can love like the Father loves.
Again, in Edmonton, on August 20, 2023, I ran the 21.1km (1/2 marathon). God told me to buy everything new—new runners, new underwear, new socks, new shorts, new shirts, new hat, new glasses—everything! I prophetically ran, declaring it was a new season. God was doing a new thing. He was teaching me how to walk in this new way. To trust the move of the Spirit and go up higher to get his perspective and his understanding. 
All of this began when I saw a flame blazing at the Calgary Olympic Plaza, and I heard the Lord challenge me to run. This was in February 2015. Now, 10 years later, this coming August 17, 2025, God has asked me to do my fifth race, a walk/run marathon in Edmonton. As I have been struggling with physical issues and asking God how I can do this, he recently showed me the fire of God on the mountain of the Lord. He told me to take this flame just like the Olympic torch and run/walk with it. Our God's inextinguishable flame is to be brought to downtown Edmonton. Ironically, God told me this at the Seek First conference that was held in the Olympic conference room in Kananaskis. This prophetic race expresses that God wants to reveal his love to all people and set a flame upon their hearts. He is proclaiming, "Where the pioneers have plowed and planted His seeds, now is the time for the harvest." God is releasing his love, his battle cry, his authority to set the captives free. It is a run/walk with the clarion call, "Let my people Go!"  It is time for them to hear the Father’s voice saying, “Come Home!” Each person in captivity will be set free, come to their senses, and be like the prodigal who realizes that it is better to be home than it is in the pig pen. Home is where love is, kindness is, care is, hope is! Come HOME! Come home to the Father’s embrace and know his love for you that's so deep that he gave his most precious treasure to come find you—JESUS!
